Audiometry Program Symposium: Basic Parts of Hearing Aids and Professional Experience

On October 22, 2024, an online symposium was organized for the second-year students of the Audiometry Program under the coordination of our Assistant Department Head and Audiometry Program instructor, Lecturer Tuğba URAL. Audiologist Elif Serter Kızıltaş, joining as a guest speaker from Ankara, conducted the symposium titled "Basic Parts of Hearing Aids and Professional Experience."

With over five years of experience in the field and having recently opened her own hearing aid center, Elif Serter Kızıltaş introduced students to the basic components of hearing aids in detail. She demonstrated how hearing aids work through models and simulations, explaining the functions of components like the microphone, speaker, amplifier, and battery. Kızıltaş also shared practical information on processes ranging from selecting to maintaining hearing aids.

In the symposium, Ms. Kızıltaş also shared her experiences, including challenges in the field of hearing aids, industry developments, and insights from establishing her own business, providing valuable guidance for students in their professional journeys. At the end of the symposium, students had the opportunity to ask questions in an interactive Q&A session, bringing the event to a close.
